Getting Around:

Everything is easily accessible via Uber or Lyft — or, if you’re feeling adventurous, try a Waymo (self-driving car)!

We don’t recommend renting a car in the city — break-ins are common and parking is tough. If you want to explore beyond SF, apps like Turo make it easy to rent a car just for the day.

🌳 Outdoor Adventures

Walk the Presidio

We love Mountain Lake Park, the Lyon Street Steps, and Lover’s Lane.

Crissy Field + Tunnel Tops

Stroll by the water near the Golden Gate Bridge. Stop at Radhaus for a beer and a pretzel.

Golden Gate Park

So much to see! Visit the de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Bison Paddock, or the California Academy of Sciences.

Ocean Beach

It’s beautiful, but windy — bring a sweater! We love getting a poke burrito at Hook Fish afterward.

Golden Gate Bridge

Walk or bike across if the weather’s nice — the views are worth it.

Sausalito

A short ride over the bridge! Wander the waterfront and dine at The Joinery or Bar Bocce.

🛍️ Food & Shopping

Hayes Valley

Great local shopping. If it’s sunny, grab a beer at the Biergarten.

Ferry Building (Embarcadero)

Fun mix of shops, local food, and drinks.

Fisherman’s Wharf

Very touristy, but if you’re curious — go for it!

Balboa Cafe

A neighborhood classic — known for their espresso martinis!

Rich Table – Pete’s favorite! A splurge, but absolutely worth it. (Reservations required)

Hook Fish – Great for casual seafood.

Sotto Mare – Classic Italian seafood in North Beach.

Hog Island Oyster Co. – Awesome oysters with a view.

House of Prime Rib – Iconic SF steakhouse.

Copra – Inventive South Indian-inspired cuisine.

Taco Bar – Great casual spot. We especially love the Fillmore Street location!

Dumpling Story – Excellent dumplings, fast and casual.

Little Chucker – A local favorite for drinks and snacks.

🍷 Wine Country Recommendations

Jenny’s favorite day trip is to Napa or Sonoma — both are full of amazing wineries!

Some tips before you go:

Wineries require reservations (book early!).

Uber/Lyft works, but it’s a longer ride.

Getting between wineries can take 20–30 minutes, so plan your route accordingly.
